Next Release / More Beta Invites To Come

February 14th, 2008, Reilly Sweetland

If you have been waiting anxiously for a beta invite for a while now, we appreciate your patience…but you will hopefully not have to wait much longer! We are increasing the number of beta users we are allowing into TypeRoom Lite. Invite emails will be going out in next few days.

We pushed another release of TypeRoom Lite today with a few bug fixes as well as a modification or two to the editor. Specifically some alterations to make it easier to use. (Thanks for everyone’s input here!)

As far as those of you asking about TypeRoom Professional (our most frequently asked question), we are working on this and it is going very well. Your feedback and use of TypeRoom Lite is ultimately helping our overall progress on TypeRoom Pro.

On that note, we made a small expansion to the informational section of our site (available to beta users) that will hopefully make the difference between TypeRoom Lite and TypeRoom Professional much clearer.

As always, please feel free to post feedback here, or email us at feedback@typeroom.com

while i can sign up and edit a coipy of my website, i am unable to use the same login credentials to upload it to the ftp site??

The username and password for our system allows you to use our application
and access the FTP feature. However, you still need to know your FTP login
crendentials to successfully connect to your server.

If you do not have this information available, you can contact your webmaster
or hosting provider and ask them for it.

I caught a type on your about page:

“Essentially, TypeRoom into what we envisioned our ideal CMS to be, taking what we learned from our previous developments.”

  4. 4. Ian Silber Says:

Thanks for pointing that out Chuck!

This is fantastic! Great job. Thanks for letting me be a part of your beta test

Thanks for the beta-invite; when I initially found this “simple-CMS,” I was intrigued because it seems/seemed perfect for one of my companies.

I would ideally like the group department manager to be able to access, and modify the site design without learning HTML and/or other programming-languages.

I’m not sure how to change my username/login name and password.
Is that even possible at this point?

    Thanks, either way.

Brad – thanks for the positive feedback!

While you can not change the Beta account username and password (the one that gets you into the app), you can change your TypeRoom Lite account information, using the Forgot Password functionality.

My site is has a .gr domain and i cant insert it for edititing.

    any ideas?

  9. 9. Ian Silber Says:

    @Girogos:

The most common reason for this problem is a Javascript file which is stored an another server that does not load. This ends up hanging the system and not letting you edit the page.

Thanks for checking out the system and I hope you had a chance to try it on another site.

The extensive testing you guys are doing and beta invites are paying off. I used lite and the FTP publish without errors for the first time a couple weeks ago. I used it again today to make some minor edits and it was also quick and smooth. Good work guys!

    Thanks for the feedback Andy!
